The Zorki 4 is a classic Soviet 35mm rangefinder film camera, paired with the sharp Jupiter-8 50mm f/2 lens. Fully mechanical and built to last, it features a coupled rangefinder, shutter speeds up to 1/1000s, and M39 lens mount. Ideal for vintage camera collectors and film photography enthusiasts seeking a retro, manual shooting experience.
Key Features
1. 35 mm Rangefinder Camera: The Zorki‑4 is a fully mechanical 35 mm (format 24×36 mm) rangefinder camera built in the USSR by KMZ (Krasnogorsk Mechanical Plant).
2. Lens Mount & Included Lens: It uses the Leica Thread Mount (M39 / LTM) and commonly comes paired with a Jupiter‑8 50 mm f/2 lens, a Soviet version of the Zeiss Sonnar optical design.
3. Shutter & Speeds: The shutter is a horizontal cloth focal-plane curtain (double curtain). It offers speeds from 1 s to 1/1000 s plus Bulb mode (“B”).
4. Manual Controls & No Meter: The camera is fully manual — no built‑in light meter. Users need to meter using external meters or use exposure rules like “Sunny 16.”
5. Viewfinder & Rangefinder Coupling: It features a coupled rangefinder patch in the viewfinder with diopter adjustment. Focus is done via the lens, matched to the rangefinder.
6. Vintage / Collectible Appeal & Use: Historic appeal (produced 1956–1973; over 1.7 million units made) and the Jupiter‑8 lens are sought after by film photography enthusiasts. Still usable for creative photography, though older units may need servicing.
